The 2002 748R was a road-legal version of Ducati's Supersport racer, built to meet the 1,000-unit homologation requirement. It was updated for 2001 with Öhlins suspension, a lighter frame, and a lighter flywheel and crank. Single-seat and firm on the road, it is at its best on track.
