The 750GT prototype was the first road-going Ducati V-twin, laid out by Fabio Taglioni in 1970 as a longitudinal 90 degree twin with bevel-driven overhead cams. It led to the production 750GT of mid-1971, which added a revised frame and Concentric carburettors. The Gran Turismo name signalled a touring intent.
