The 900 Sport ie was the entry-level member of the fuel-injected SuperSport range, aimed at riders who wanted manageable power and sharp handling more than a top-speed number. It was the first Sport to get the injected 900 cc air-cooled Desmo twin, which replaced the carburettor engine. Upside-down forks, twin 320 mm discs, braided brake lines and the tubular trellis frame came with it.
