The 1976 900SS continued the square-case Super Sport formula: 864 cc desmodromic V-twin, twin front discs, half-fairing and a single seat. Changes in this period were mostly small, regulation-driven ones such as quieter silencers and a relocated shifter for some markets. It kept the hand-built, razor-sharp handling that made the model's reputation.
