The 1977 900SS remained the purist's Ducati, with its desmodromic 864 cc V-twin, kick starter and race-style half fairing. It sat at the top of the range as a fast, light sports twin with Marzocchi suspension and twin front discs. Many riders found it demanding but unmatched for handling and feel.
