The 1989 900SS brought the belt-driven 904 cc desmodromic twin from the Paso into the Supersport line, with a six-speed box, 17-inch wheels and large front discs. Road testers liked its torque and planted handling but criticised patchy low-rev carburation and a noisy dry clutch.
