The 916 SPA was a tiny 1996 run of roughly 54 bikes, made so Ducati could homologate 96 mm pistons and barrels for AMA Superbike racing. The 2 mm overbore lifts the V-twin to 955 cc, and otherwise it is essentially an SP3 chassis with a power gain. It is one of the rarest road-legal 916-family Ducatis, and tuned examples are said to be fast but demanding, with a tall first gear and an uncomfortable seat.
