The 999S is the upgraded version of the standard 999, adding fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and engine changes worth roughly 12 hp (136 hp). Visually close to the base bike, it feels more polished, with easy turn-in, strong Brembo brakes and punchy power delivery. Reviewers rated it very highly on the road, though town riding suffered from heat from the under-seat catalytic converter.
