The Monster 600 was the first of the smaller Monsters, putting the 583 cc air-cooled desmodromic twin in the naked trellis-frame chassis created by the 900. It is light, upright and easy to ride with a tractable engine and slick gearbox, though the firm suspension and low pegs and silencers limit cornering clearance. It sold as a cheaper way into Ducati ownership.
