The Monster 659 was a learner-legal Monster built for the Australian LAMS scheme, using a detuned 659 cc version of the air-cooled two-valve twin from the Monster 696. It keeps the 696's light weight, low seat and friendly power delivery, with a 6-speed gearbox, twin front discs and an ABS option, and was sold in the Monster's stripped-back naked style.
