The 695 replaced the 620 as Ducati's entry-level, air-cooled Monster, stretching the engine to 695 cc with a wider bore and shorter stroke. It gained a claimed 73 hp, a taller final drive for relaxed cruising and a longer first valve-service interval, while chassis, suspension and brakes were carried over from the 620. Cosmetic changes were limited to new side-panel graphics, a white tank logo and tidier wiring.
