A carry-over year for the 696 in the spec tables, with the same engine and cycle parts as the launch model. The Monster 696 is the air-cooled, entry-level Monster that replaced the 695, with a new hybrid trellis frame, aluminium subframe and swingarm, digital dash, LED tail light and an APTC slipper clutch. Its 696 cc Desmodue twin makes about 80 hp and the bike stays light and low at 770 mm seat height.
