The final year of the 696 listed here, sold as the standard bike, the 696+ with single-seat cover and mini fairing, and an ABS version. The Monster 696 is the air-cooled, entry-level Monster that replaced the 695, with a new hybrid trellis frame, aluminium subframe and swingarm, digital dash, LED tail light and an APTC slipper clutch. Its 696 cc Desmodue twin makes about 80 hp and the bike stays light and low at 770 mm seat height.
