Ducati file

Launched in 1996 as the middle Monster between the 600 and 900, it used the 748 SS engine with carburettors in a trellis frame derived from the 888. It started with a single front disc and 40 mm Marzocchi fork; from 1998 it had twin front discs, and from 2000 a 43 mm Showa fork. A comfortable, nimble town bike, less at ease on long trips.
