The Multistrada 1000 DS was Ducati's first all-road sport-tourer, mixing a sport-bike trellis frame and Brembo brakes with long-travel suspension and an upright riding position. Its air-cooled 992 cc Desmodue twin was fuel-injected and made around 84 hp. The unusual styling divided opinion but it proved versatile for commuting, touring and mountain roads.
