The 1100 brought a bigger-bore 1078 cc air-cooled Desmo twin with Dual Spark ignition, a quieter wet clutch, vibration-isolated handlebars and a longer service-interval programme. Chassis and styling carried over from the 1000 DS. It was named best sport-tourer by Cycle World and is Euro 3 compliant.
