The 2014 R carried over the 2013 homologation-special recipe: titanium rods, lightened flywheel, 12,000 rpm limit, adjustable swingarm pivot and Ohlins electronic suspension, with the Termignoni race kit for track use. Carbon-fibre bodywork and DDA+ data logging were part of the package. It was the road-legal base for Ducati's Superbike racing effort in its final 1199 year.
