The 998 cc Panigale V4 R is the homologation special for WorldSBK, with a smaller-capacity, higher-revving engine than the road V4 and a rev limit that allows over 16,000 rpm in sixth. It carries gun-drilled titanium conrods, DLC-coated pistons, a dry slipper clutch, forged Marchesini wheels, and Öhlins suspension. A track kit with racing exhaust and special oil takes it to roughly 240 hp.
