Introduced for 1993 to replace the FXRS Low Rider, the FXDL put the Low Rider name on the new rubber-mounted Dyna chassis. It used the 1340 cc Evolution V-twin with a five-speed gearbox and belt final drive, twin front discs, a 19-inch front wheel and a very low saddle.
