Introduced for 1995 as the replacement for the FXR Super Glide, the FXD was the entry model of the Dyna family, using the rubber-mounted Dyna frame with a steeper 28° rake than earlier Dynas. It was powered by the 1340 Evolution V-twin with a carburettor and five-speed gearbox, and kept things simple with a single front disc, a 19-inch front wheel and a low seat.
