The 1976-77 FLH 1200 carried over the Shovelhead 74 cu in engine, four-speed gearbox and twin disc brakes of the 1975 bike. For America's Bicentennial, Harley offered Liberty Edition paint and badging. In 1977 an unfaired FLHS Sport version joined the range, and the 1200 started to be overshadowed by the larger 80 cu in engine that arrived for 1978.
