The FLHS was the Electra Glide Sport, a less-dressed version of the FLH. From 1978 it could have the new 80 cu in (1340 cc) Shovelhead, which gave more low-down torque for loaded touring. It kept the four-speed gearbox, chain drive and single discs. Contemporary British road tests liked its torque and comfort over long distances but criticised the weak brakes and thirst for oil.
