The 1980 1340 Electra Glide used the 80 cu in Shovelhead in a low-compression tune, with a four-speed gearbox and chain drive. It was big, heavy and comfortable, with a broad seat and plenty of luggage space. Magazine comparisons of the time criticised its vibration, clunky gearchange and brakes against European tourers such as the Moto Guzzi 850 T3.
