The 2009 Ultra Classic looked much like before but sat on the all-new touring chassis: a stiffer single-backbone frame and swingarm, new engine mounts, a 17-inch front wheel and wider 16-inch rear, more trail and about 70 lb more carrying capacity. A 2-1-2 exhaust routed heat away from the riders, a lower final-drive ratio sharpened acceleration and the isolated drive moved into the rear hub. The Twin Cam 96, six-speed gearbox, six-gallon tank and full Ultra equipment carried over, with ABS optional.
