The second-generation Low Rider moved the chopped, low-slung FXS look onto the rubber-mounted FXR chassis with the new 1340 cc Evolution engine, a 21-inch spoked front wheel, solid rear disc wheel and belt final drive. It was a strong seller, praised for its torque and relaxed character but criticised for weak brakes and short range, and was replaced by the Dyna-based FXDL after 1994.
