For 2005-2006 the Road Glide carried on with the Twin Cam 88 engine and five-speed gearbox, still offered with either a carburettor (FLTR) or sequential port fuel injection (FLTRI). It was the last Road Glide generation before the 96 cu in engine and six-speed Cruise Drive arrived for 2007, and it kept the 16-inch wheels and 5-gallon tank of the earlier bikes.
