The 2018 Fat Boy was the first on Harley-Davidson's all-new Softail chassis, which replaced the Twin Cam era bike with a stiffer, lighter frame, a Showa cartridge fork and a monoshock hidden under the seat. The 107 cu in Milwaukee-Eight was the standard engine, and the bike gained an 18-inch 160 mm front and 240 mm rear tyre on solid Lakester wheels for a wider stance. It weighed roughly 30 lb less than the Twin Cam Fat Boy it replaced and got LED lighting and keyless ignition.
