In the late 1990s the Evolution-engined Fat Boy carried on with only cosmetic updates each year, keeping its signature solid-disc wheels, wide handlebars, shotgun exhausts and winged tank trim. The 1340 cc Evolution twin, carburetted five-speed drivetrain and Softail hidden-shock chassis were unchanged; the Twin Cam replaced the Evolution only for model year 2000.
