The 2003-2004 Springer Softail kept the rigid-mounted Twin Cam 88B, low handlebar, forward controls and chrome springer fork with a 21-inch laced wheel. For 2004 Harley added a longer-life tail lamp, corrosion-resistant spokes, a lighter clutch pull, longer-lasting brake pads and chrome head bolts. Fuel injection (FXSTSI) and a security system were optional.
