The Softail Springer pairs the Softail's hidden-shock hardtail look with a chromed leading-link Springer fork and a skinny 21-inch front wheel, a deliberate throwback to pre-war Harleys. For these years it ran the rubber-free, counterbalanced Twin Cam 88B with a carburettor or, on the FXSTSI, fuel injection. The 2006 model widened the rear end with a 200 mm tyre under a broader bobtail fender and a slotted disc rear wheel.
