Launched for 2018 alongside the Forty-Eight Special, the Iron 1200 put the 1200 Evolution engine into the blacked-out Iron styling that had been reserved for the 883. It added a mini-ape handlebar, a small headlight fairing, a café-style solo seat and 1970s-inspired tank graphics on black nine-spoke 19/16-inch wheels. The bigger engine gave noticeably more pull than the Iron 883 for a modest price premium.
