In its last two years the 1200 Custom was offered with a black-and-chrome look, a chrome shorty dual exhaust and a striped tank graphic, while keeping the fat-front 16-inch wheels and 4.5-gallon tank. Mechanically it remained the fuel-injected 1200 Evolution twin with a 5-speed box and belt drive. It was aimed at riders wanting a classic chrome Sportster rather than the blacked-out Dark Custom models.
