For 2016 the Forty-Eight was substantially reworked: a 49 mm fork with cartridge damping replaced the old 39 mm unit, emulsion rear shocks with easy preload adjustment were fitted, and laced wheels gave way to black nine-spoke cast wheels with a fatter 130 mm front tyre. The 1202 cc Evolution engine received a higher 10:1 compression ratio, and the bike kept its 7.9-litre peanut tank and low bobber stance.
