The Hugger was the lowered version of the rigid-mount 883 Sportster, with shorter fork and shock travel and a low-profile solo seat giving the lowest seat in the Sportster range. It used buckhorn bars, mid-mount controls and a silver powder-coated engine with polished covers, and a two-up seat was offered as an accessory. It suited shorter riders and newcomers wanting an easy, manageable Harley.
