New for 2005, the 883 Low was a standard 883 lowered for shorter and newer riders: a shorter fork (about 25 mm less travel), shorter rear shocks and reworked ergonomics brought the seat down to around 26 inches. It kept the carburetted rubber-mount engine, 19-inch front wheel, mid controls and 3.3-gallon tank.
