This is the standard 883 Sportster of 1999-2002, the entry point to the Harley-Davidson range, with the frame-mounted 883 cc Evolution V-twin, five-speed gearbox and belt drive. It was praised as versatile, stable and forgiving, comfortable enough for two-up rides and easy to personalise, but its vibration made sustained speeds above about 65 mph tiring.
