The FLHX Street Glide arrived for 2006 as a stripped, custom-styled version of the Electra Glide, keeping the fork-mounted batwing fairing and hard saddlebags but dropping the tour pack and lowering the rear suspension. A short smoked windscreen, a cleaner look and an audio system in the fairing made it the first factory "bagger". In its first year it used the 88 cu in Twin Cam engine and a five-speed gearbox.
