The Night Rod took the liquid-cooled VRSC platform in a darker, sportier direction, with blacked-out finishes, mid-mounted foot controls and a fork raked out to 34 degrees. For 2007 it still used the 1130 cc Revolution V-twin, good for roughly 120 hp, and rode on a 180-section rear tyre rather than the fat 240 of the Night Rod Special. It sat between the original V-Rod and the more aggressive Special in the line-up.
