The ATC250R was a racing-focused three-wheeler, swapping Honda's usual four-stroke for a 248 cc two-stroke with suspension at both ends. It was developed every two years: Pro-Link rear suspension and more travel arrived in 1983, and the 1985-86 model got a liquid-cooled engine, a sixth gear, a new frame and nearly 10 in of travel front and rear. It dominated three-wheeler racing until the category was killed off by safety concerns.
