The 2017 update gave the EX full LED lighting with a chrome-rimmed round headlight, a seamless tank, a lighter exhaust, revised instruments and a slipper clutch, while it lost about 5 kg. The air-cooled four, steel double cradle, preload-adjustable fork and twin shocks and wire-spoked 18-inch wheels remained. It was sold alongside the new cast-wheeled CB1100 RS.
