2007 brought only a new seat stitching pattern and colours, while 2008 was a significant emissions update: catalysts built into the header pipes, rerouted exhaust and an automatic idle-air valve replacing the manual choke. The ECU retune raised output to 101 PS, making it one of the first Japanese-market bikes over the old 100 PS limit. The character remained that of a heavy, relaxed, low-rev-strong roadster.
