The CB400F was the Japan-only 399 cc version of Honda's 2013 CB500F naked twin, created to fit Japan's licence class for bikes up to 400 cc. It used a smaller-bore version of the liquid-cooled DOHC parallel twin, in the same steel frame with Pro-Link rear suspension. It was pitched as a light, approachable all-rounder for newer riders.
