The K2 belongs to the second phase of Honda's twin-cam 450, after the K1 update of 1968 brought a five-speed gearbox, a new tank and separate speedometer and tachometer. It still ran a drum front brake and an 18-inch front wheel. The torsion-bar-valved 445 cc twin gave Honda a technically advanced rival to the big British twins.
