The mid-1990s CB500, with some production moved to Italy, carried on the same 499 cc twin. Late in 1996 it gained Brembo brakes, including a rear disc, plus silver wheels, and the CB500 Cup race series helped its image. Reviewers liked its finish and agility but found the suspension soft and wind protection lacking.
