For 2007 the Hornet was redesigned from the ground up: a fuel-injected engine derived from the CBR600RR, a gravity die-cast aluminium backbone frame and swingarm, a short under-engine exhaust and a bigger 19-litre tank, with ABS offered as an option. The result was lighter and considerably more powerful than the carburetted bike, while keeping an upright naked riding position; the trade-off was little wind protection at speed.
