Honda's new 627 cc air-cooled SOHC four for 1979, slotting in to replace the CB550 and filling the gap below the CB750. It was a light, fairly compact standard with a single front disc, rear drum and chain drive, aimed at riders wanting four-cylinder smoothness without big-bike bulk.
