The first Nighthawk 750 put the air-cooled DOHC CB750 engine into a US-market street bike with stepped seat, pulled-back handlebar and 16-inch wheels. Honda's TRAC anti-dive front fork was a notable feature. Testers liked the brakes and looks but noted engine vibration and the swept-back bars; 1983 brought new colours and speedometer changes.
