The 2004 Hornet 900 / 919 gained adjustable front fork damping and rear rebound adjustment, addressing the main criticism of the earlier bikes. In the US it was finished in metallic black with black engine covers and gold brake calipers. The engine and steel backbone chassis were otherwise carried over.
