Honda's American-market CB900C took the European CB900F's 901 cc DOHC four and turned it into a shaft-drive custom with a longer wheelbase, stepped seat and pulled-back bars. Its signature feature was a two-range sub-transmission giving ten ratios, while air-assisted suspension at both ends delivered a soft, comfortable ride. Testers liked the smooth engine and brakes but noted the weight and driveline lash.
