The 1997 CBR1000F carried on with no mechanical changes, now sitting below the new CBR1100XX in Honda's range. It remained a heavy but very stable long-distance tourer with a refined, flexible inline-four and linked brakes. Buyers chose it for comfort and value rather than outright speed.
